SPEED KILLS 8-WEEK CAMP

**Attention parents of LFC, CSC, and

Kings Hammer Bluegrass athletes**


Join us this winter for the Speed Kills Camp! Each 1-hour session will focus on important aspects of speed including: warm-up, acceleration, jumping & landing, and explosiveness. Athletes will train twice per week over the 8-Week winter during January & February.

We utilize technology such as the Dashr laser-timing system and the Probotics Just Jump system to provide athletes with accurate and reliable data on their performance metrics.


THIS IS NOT A CONDITIONING OR AGILITY CAMP.


THIS CAMP IS INTENDED TO MAKE ATHLETES FASTER .


Athletes who are capable of higher top speeds have a greater "speed reserve" in games than athletes who have a lower top-end speed.

For Example:

Athlete A can run 8.0 yd/sec.

Athlete B can run 7.0 yd/sec.

In the game, let's say the top speed achieved is 6.5 yd/sec. That represents 93% of athlete B's max speed, but only 81% of athlete A's top speed. Athlete A has a speed reserve of 19% as opposed to the 7% of Athlete B. Additionally, Athlete A will find it easier to reach the 6.5 yd/sec repeatedly because it represents a lower relative speed. This also means that Athlete A will recover more easily than Athlete B because of the lower relative stress / effort required to reach the top game speed.


The Speed Kills Camp is limited to 50 athletes.
